Children & Vitamins etcOn this forum, I read a lot about alternatives for children, and I read a alot about people wanting to know results for their use. What I want to know as many people would - are these alternatives regulated, safe and successful? I have heard of children swallowing iron tablets and dying. I have heard of vitamin companies being closed down because they are not regulated and their products have unequal ingrediants in their pills - causing harm. This is why I avoid them now. I buy "childrens multi-vitamins" and still worry. You might want to talk to your pediatrician, my kids take a multivitamin that comes in a prescription form and its iron free. He feels ( as do I ) that at this point they don't need it , and kids usually get sufficient iron in their diet naturally.Rae70 wrote: Rae70......to answer your question, no, they are not regulated and there are no long term conclusive studies indicating that they are safe or successful. Herbal supplements: How they're labeled and regulated Thanks guys - blows another option out the window . What about homeopathy - how is their lotions and potions any different or are they not????
