Hi, my son is 8 and he has a history of aggressive behaviors. He is very impulsive. The psychiatrist added tenex to his concerta. Tenex is a blood pressure med but it can help with impusive behaviors like hitting and running away. My son also has tics which this is suppose to help-but it's not really.
good luck

my 8 year old son was also had a bad attitude and would throw things and hit people..Especially when he was on adderall so he stopped taking adderall and they put him on dexedrine..Dexedrine help him out alot until recently he started developing the tics on it.. Which surprised us because he was taking the dexedrine for almost 2 years..Now he is on no meds until we go see a new doctor in sept..I would suggest a med change to see if the bad behaviors stop.. My son also 7yrs. old has mood swings is very hateful and is aggresive towards his 4yr. old brother, me, and even to his classmates.(extremely impulsive and many angry outbusts) We tried medate and adderall but did not work. Currently he is on lamictal for his mood swings but doesn't do much good. Sounds like the doctor needs to do a med change for your son....
