Total Transformation Program | ADHD Information

I am viewing it now.Most of it so far is common sense we already know. He is a behavioral therapist himself. Had behavioral issues himself as a kid. Most of it is find a consequence that the child will respond  to  and do it . No help for asd kids.

He says the issue is lacking in problem solving skills.He says we need to learn this and accountability for our choices.

I've never heard of it either, but it reminds me of one of the Goosebumps stories in my daughter's book about a school you could send you child to that would make them "perfect" (they were actually sending robots home in place of the child).

Is it a behavioral program?

It is an ADHD problem.  He is 8 in 3rd grade, losing weight, on concerta 54 mg. weighs 54 lbs and losing.  School seems to be OK, but he literally assaulting kids at football, gets frustrated, agitated and can't sleep AT ALL.

I am frustrated and don't know what to do.

I am sorry I have never heard of this program

I know you asked about a specific program, but with the other issues (weight and sleep), you might talk to the doctor about augmenting the concerta.  Sometimes guanfacine (Tenex) or clonidine is added to augment the stimulant meds. They are not helpful with attention but improve calming, defiance, impulsivity, weight issues and sleep issues. This might buy you time to find a good program for the behavior modification. My daughter has had guanfacine added because she is losing weight that she cannot afford to loose (she is 10 and weighs 60 pounds without stimulant meds).

I listened to the whole total transformation program.  It is a good fair commonsense parenting lesson.  It cost my brother 0.  As with other programs it gives you some tools to deal better with your kids.  So many of us get stuck trying the same thing over and over. It never hurts to read a book or listen to a program.  Just remember there is no absolute right way.  I like the Love and Logic program too. I meant to say there is no magic!
