[QUOTE=Candylady]Hi
I wanted to share something I found on the internet that realy helped me be less worried about my daugters talking. She is 26 months and I wasn't sure if she was saying engough words - her friend down the street is already talking in sentences and she is just 27 months!! I found speech-check.com where I filled out a questionnaire - turns out she is fine. What a relief. My son with ADHD had a language delay so I hope this is good news for my daughter

Hey thanks Candy. I've forwarded this link to my sis. We were just talking about this subject for her little man. Maybe she'll find it useful.
A language delay, if expressive or receptive language continue to be a problem even after speech comes, is a big red flag for ASD rather than ADHD. Especially if social problems go with it, it's probably smart to check it out. ADHD has a lot in common with ASD, but the interventions need to be different and ASD is more often misdiagnosed or missed. You need a NeuroPsych for diagnosing ADHD vs. ASD. It's sometimes, in young kids, a very tricky distinction, but the outcome for the child depends on the treatment. Hi
