Dore Centers - anyone actually tried one? | ADHD Information

Well, I don't know anything about that program, I heard about one (I don't want to advertise, just to help) I'm not sure if it works. They send me information and it looks "promising". My son's ESE teacher told me (because I let her see it, the CD with the info) She is going to talk to the principal about it, but the only problem is: Is the school board going to approve the use of it? According to them ( company who created it):The fun video game format boost real life-and educational-success by teaching focus, visual tracking, time on task, short term memory sequencing, and discriminatory proccessing.

You can get more info online: www.playattention.net

If you call them they tell you how it works and send you more info. I hope it works for you!!

At this point I'm open to anything (program) that helps my son.

GOOD LUCK to all!!

Is this an advertisement??????

No - I'm considering doing it.  But it's very new yet the numbers aren't insignificant.  Wiht all that , thought someone in this group would have experimented.  I'm having trouble with the drugs - they help but the side-effects really get in my way.

Was also told that there is a program in Australia - would love to know what you hear about Dore.

Thx

No soliciting, Southie.

Has anyone actually tried the Dore Achievement Center program? Colorado, Boston MA, and others now.   Hearing good things - 18,000 patients in UK, apparently good results.  2,000 in U.S., mostly in progress.  Seems to make sense and the science seems plausible.   Involves special exercises, no new meds, no change in meds required.

But has anyone actually done it and can comment?

Thanks

Thanks MLopez - I'll look at Play Attention too.

Let's try it this way - has any adult actually tried and is willing to provide feedback on ANY of the NON-medication systems.  Don't really care about the brand - whatever works - have info from a friend who heard good comments about one system (but had not tried it) - It's just a question, want to consider alternatives to drugs

I've been lurking for awhile.  There's quite a bit of hearsay in the posts about non-med alternatives.  But no one has said - "I tried the (non-med) ABC program and xyz happened".   Seems like someone must have tried some/any of programs by now.

I'm happy to receive a private post if anyone feels, for any reason, that they might be soliciting in the public forum.

If there's another way to find out what people have tried, please let me know.  Ritalin, Adderall, Statera are brands of drugs (Novartis, Shire and Lilly resp).  We talk about these brands. Have been there, done the drugs (in combo with other meds) - we should be able to come up with some way to discuss some of the alternatives to drugs.

Thank you, thank you, thank you in advance

After reading the report in U.S. News & World Report, April 26, 2004, about DORE I would also like to hear from anyone who has tried it. I want to try it for myself but the closest center to me is an 8 hour drive plus it costs about 3,000 dollars. A similar program is www.learningbreakthrough.com. Seems the same and costs only 300 hundred dollars. Plus they sent you the stuff to do the exercises. I am not convinced enough to try any yet so I would like to hear from someone who tired these programs.

(I am also checking out Brain Gym. When I called DORE they said to look into it.)

I would also like to hear if anyone has tried it.  I've contacted them and its very pricey - 3000 is the bare minimum cost.  And you dont' have to go to the Dore Center, either - they send you the materials.  It does seem to have good results, I've been looking for my brother because his ADHD is more severe than mine.  If anyone has tried this, please do speak up.

I am also interested in any feedback about Dore Achievement Center.

If you have tried any of the non-medicine based ADD cure, such as Dore or

Learning breakthough, PACE etc. I am interested in any feedback.

Thanks!
