I was wondering if any of you have information that could help me.

I was diagnosed with adhd in high school (I'm 21 now), and was put on Adderall...don't remember the dose. I currently do not have healthcare, and have not been on meds for a few years. I feel that this has been hurting me. Does anyone know how to get meds cheaply without healthcare?  Does anyone know about buying them on the internet from foreign pharmacies? Is that legit?

Hi Laurala, I just got back from my Doc. I'm currently taking adderall 20 mg three times a day. I have to go with generic b/c even w/ins. I can't afford name brand. I'm also taking ambian for sleep, (not available in gen yet) gen. klonopin 3 times a day for anxiety, mussle relaxers for a buldging disk in my back(gen). and fiorcet for headaches. Both gen.

I've been w/out ins. before, and often thought how unfair it is that we really need meds and can't afford them!. My husband has a good job and ins. but the deductables are the killers! $15 for gen. and $40 for name brand. He dosen't have add, but is on other meds. Being a Hispanic female, I was told I might be able to get assistance. NOT! my husband makes to much and they consider 2 cars, a house, and your basic "creature comforts" a LUXURY! We live from paycheck to paycheck. VERY stressful!

Anyway, let me stop rambling and try to help you.I don't know your financial situation, but if all you need is adderall, you lucky! Sometimes if you can get to a Doc, they can give you a 30 day free sample of adderall XL. They write the script, you call a #, present it at your pharmacy and they fill it for free. I did that and really liked them, but I had to take 2 a day. (my body dosn't do well w/once a day meds) I'm back on gen. If you can, give it a try, just to see what dose is best for you. I'm only 5'3 and 107 pds. You may be able to get a lesser dosage. You may be suprised at the price of gen. adderall and may be afforable(90 was under $100 )

As for the internet, I'd be kinda leary. And I live in Florida, and most reputable places won't even ship nasal spray here! I've looked into it and the prices are REALLY outrages! And also you don't know if your getting "out of date meds". I will admit I found a company that ships fiorcet to fl. simply because it is shipped w/in the state. But it is very expensive.

Your lucky you we're DX'ed at a young age. I'm 47, and was DX'ed over a year ago. I suffered tremendously! I hope I helped you somewhat and keep us posted. Oh yeh, I was told canadian pharmacys aren't that great and you still need a script. You diden't say if your married or not. You may qualify for somekind of assistance. Sometimes the drug companies will subsidize the cost of their medications.  There is a place on their web sites where you can get forms to fill out for assistance.  I believe you also need something from your physician.  It can't hurt to take a look at what is required for their assistance.

That is correct if you email the drug company they will send your Dr. coupons for the medication, also it is hard to get narcotics through the mail and I wouldnt trust getting them online from another country.

I would check the drug companies and see if they can help you with the costs.

I'm pretty much in the same boat as you...but there is hope...I had to get my script filled on Tuesday.  I take the 30 mgs twice a day...I don't know if you have a Sam's club where you live, but when I went there getting the generic and having the membership it cost me $35.00 no insurance etc.  The regular pharmacy wanted well over $100.00 to refill it with the generic...  Hope that helps...
