Hmmm, interesting articles. I bought it because it was the only thing I could find that didn't have a whole list of ingredients that my son can't have. Also, it came in powdered form and it's tasteless.
Thanks for the articles. Now that I have it, is it harmful to continue in giving my son this product? Will he be getting the calcium he needs? That's the only reason why I bought it.
The article did list the lead content to be low, I would personally use it while looking for something else. For calcium, do you have a product called Viactiv in canada? It is a candy chew containing calcium, vitamins D and K. They are like carmal or chewey chocolate. My girls really like them and I get them at the grocery store vitamin isle here in the US.

Of couse, I do not know what is on the list of things your son cannot have, so this may not work either.

There is much about coral calcium and Barfoot including:
"In June 2003, ConsumerLab reported that Bob Barefoot's Coral Calcium Supreme contains 2.5 micrograms of lead per gram of calcium [22]. This might not pose a physical threat (except, perhaps, to a developing child when taken by a woman who is pregnant or breastfeeding). However, there is no logical reason take the product when many other calcium supplements have a lower lead level. California requires that products exceeding the "no significant risk level" of 1.5 micrograms of lead provide a warning label -- which Barefoot's product does not."
vickie38964.461400463Has anyone heard of Coral Calcium? I just bought some the other day and thought it was interesting. Here's what it has to say:
Why Coral Calcium?
Coral calcium is already in a bioavailable ionic form so the body does not use any energy converting it to an absorbably form. Therefore, coral calcium is extremely absorbable in a short time period. It also contains over 70 trace minerals that are naturally found in coral. It also contains antioxidants that help protect the body from free radical damage. Another benefit is its ability to increase your body's pH level and make it more alkaline, thus reversing or preventing disease. Most diseases thrive in a low pH (acidic) environment. If your body is not pH balanced you will not be able to effectively assimilate vitamins and minerals. Sea coral tends to be exceptionally low in heavy metals because it was pushed about the ocean long before the industrial revolution began.

We've tried this product and it's tasteless and in powdered form. You can put it in any juice, milk or water.
I checked out your website and couldnt find an area where they listed the ingredients. From the sounds of what you've described, I'm not particularly keen on the flavours that's been added to the vits and my son won't chew things like that either. Thanks anyhow.
