Can u dance? | ADHD Information

i love to dance but complicated dances like the hustle are absolutely beyond me.  line dances also.  i could almost macarena.  i completely blank out. 

i wanted to be a flag girl in high school but couldn't quite remember the moves.  i watched the eighth grade cheerleaders at my sons school and realized why i never was a cheerleader.  

how do they do it? 

plus i am a total clutz.  i am not allowed to change the toner on the copy machine at work because it  explodes somehow when i touch it. 

good thing i have a sense of humor!

your experience with the copier! well myself and security alarms do not like each other. If i touch them they end up "going off" causing an alert. ARRGH!


LOL, tigirl. I tried out for drillteam and cheerleader.

Drillteam tryouts were in front of the whole school. I was in a group of 4 girls and had to perform a routine we spent a week learning. The drum started and I did about the first 5 beats and went blank. I just stood there and went into "at attention" sort of stance and smiled. Don't know why I cried when I saw that I didn't make the cut. ;D

Cheerleader tryouts. Again in front of the school. I managed to remember the routine AND the cheer that I had to make up. Yay for me!  Then, there was the tumbling portion. I did a roundoff, back head plant. Yep, I landed right on my head and I could hear a collective gasp from the audience (thought I had broken my neck).  Nice.

Gymastics - floor routine. I got lost on the mat and just started improvising even though it was compulsory routine (the same for everyone). I got the worst score.  LOL.

It's a wonder I could ever even show my face again in school.

I am very coordinated on an individual task (I can do fantastic spins on the ice), but it's remembering long sequences and probably being in front of an audience that do me in everytime.

I was once described as a baby giraffe trying to walk .  I think i am a great dancer and enjoy it, dont get to do it much, but I will get up and have a go.

Who cares if we look like we are about to tie ourselves in knots, lets just have fun, it is our right to!

I couldn't dance for my life, but do it anyway.

 

Hi Tigirl, I thought I was the only person in the world who coulden't dance! I also love to dance, but to many moves confuse me! I try to practice at home, but can't bring myself to dance in public. Macarena? I tryed at home, but never did it in front of anyone. I got it right to a point I think the good old Y.M.C.A I could do, but I'd probably freeze if I had to do it now. And to think  some pple "just dance".

Cheerleading is beyond me! I'd probably fall and make a total ass of myself. I never had any problems with office machinery. I "hyper-focus" when I'm being shown stuff like that, other wise I coulden't do it.

Now Ryan, you mentioned security alarms. I had a 79 Trans Am that if I would even look at it, her alarm would sound off. Had it disconected b/c it drove everyone crazy including ME!
