Hi I am new here. | ADHD Information

Share
I have looked through the forum and found I might be able to get more help from you all here than I have been getting elswhere. My 5 year old son has been diagnosed with ADHD. He also has other issues that I need help with. He has an older sister and a younger sister. Hi---I am new here also but have added it to my favorites!  I look in here several times a day.  The senior members are all very knowledgable and everyone is helpful.  I read the school related issues and medication issues also.  My son is eight.  We are starting the patch next week.  I am nervous.  He is currently taking Ritalin with good results.  It just runs out too fast for him.  It is a hard life having a child with ADHD.  I knew when Brandon was 18 months.  He was different then.  Brandon also has an older sister and a younger sister.  Good luck.  I am here if you need to chat!I have also been watching this board for awhile and just signed up to post. My son is 6 years old, has been taking Concerta since age 5, I also just started Omega 3-6-9 and magnesium supplements. I have really gotten some great ideas! We are having a much better year at school (kindergarten was a nightmare!, in the office 3x per week!) Have only had 1 phone call the first month. Yea!

welcome to the 3 of you.

i have a son who is 4 with ADHD,he is not medicated,we are trying different therapies and homeopathy for now.as for myself i am ADD and takes 54mg of concerta.

Thanks susieb.  I just found out that the patches are with my insurance.  Yuck.  Brandon's doc did not have the trial book that everyone was talking about.  I am happy that it is working for your son.  Keeping my fingers crossed here!  We are starting on Friday.  Wish us luck. I have already notified the teacher.  Lord help us all!!It is so hard to find someone to talk to about this.  Most just don't understand.  So far I have found this board nice, untill the senior members start attacking one another.  Than is not too reassurring http://www.adhdnews.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=20458& PN=1

vivster, here's a link to the Daytrana thread on the medications board.  My ds started using Daytrana two weeks ago and he's been doing great.  I've even heard the words that I've been waiting to hear about homework which is:  "I did it in class, mom."  Ds says it's even, with no "low spots" in terms of focus.  We haven't had problems with the backing or it not sticking or redness that others have had.  I encourage you to read the whole thread because there's good, valuable info there.

Welcome and I hope you stick around!
