Ok, I've been buying my son Rice milk because he can't handle cow's milk. He's been drinking it for several years now and it's been a great alternative. Recently, someone here mentioned that rice milk doesn't have calcium in it. I looked at my ingredients and sure enough .. 0%. Tonight I went grocery shopping and looked again and read 30% calcium - both rice milk original .. huh?? So I realized that if you were to buy Rice milk, original and ENRICHED, the enriched one has 30% calcium but the original (original has 0%). I feel better now. :D
So, in a nutshell, for those who are wanting to try alternative milks, Rice milk and almond milk both contain calcium. Keep in mind though, if your child is sensitive to salicylates, don't buy the almond milk. They are high in salicylates.
