Adderall XR Question From Newbie
I am at my peak PMS symptoms.  Just looking for reassurance that I am not the only one!
I have more aches and pains asociated with PMS than medications, just that the medication make me more aware of the ache. If it gets worse of become bothersome then it won't hurt to ask your doctor about it just for peice of mind.

I am new to this forum and have just started Adderall XR 20 mg daily.  So far the side effects have been minimal, dry mouth the first day not so bad the second.

My question is at the end of the day (approx. 12 hours after taking my dose) when I assume it is wearing off, I am experiencing achy muscles, mostly in my legs.  Has anyone else had this happen?  It's not so bad that I am in pain, just something I have noticed my 2 days on the meds.  I am at my peak PMS symptoms.  Just looking for reassurance that I am not the only one!

Thanks for anyone who replies.

I started on Adderall XR 2Omg per day as well.  I quickly switched to normal/regular Adderall SR (short release as opposed to extended) so I could better titrate it @ 5mg every four hours because I was just too spent by 7pm, & for me, the real work starts once I leave my job, & after the kids are in bed when I need to get everything done.  Varicose veins are hereditary in my family & although I rarely feel the heaviness behind my knees, I did & still do experience awful rotator cuff irritation, especially after my final dose.  Sounds like the opposite of your problem, but I notice a sensitivity/over-stimulation of this problem w/the smallest of agitation.

My male psych is a huge believer in PME (pre-menstrual exascerbation) where your period makes ADHD or anything else "worse".  I was fortunate enough to never experience PMS (or PME) until I actually started Adderall just over a year ago.  Give it a little time, but you know your body best, so you may want to see your GP, or perhaps switch to the regular old Adderall.

terrie38974.0309722222langford, i get it completely!  i am pmsing right now so bad and think that maybe that might be why my adhd symptoms are creeping back in so soon.  I'm actually going to try taking half (15mg) in the am and the other half in the afternoon. (terrie:  have you heard if it's ok to split the capsules and take them with a glass of water?) i have three kids and run a business so, i really do not have any DOWN TIME.  right now, i actually start to be able to be tired.  (even though, i have stuff to do, i have to stop sometime and give myself some rest!)

landtheplane- I do get tired and fuzzy when the med is wearing off, usually around 11:00 a.m. (until the next beads kick in) and again around 4 or 5.  I plan to talk to the doc at my next appointment in October about the dosage.  I was under the impression it couldn't be upped until I had tried this dosage for the first 30 days.

The achy legs are better.  I think I am just feeling everything a little more right now, especially the PMS type symptoms!

I always feel extremely tired and unfocused once my dose wears off, which is usually in the early eveningI actually seem to have fewer aches and pains since I have been taking Adderall, for some reason.  However, I notice that my medications never work as well when I am experiencing PMS.  I agree with Me-Imp, that it is probably PMS related.  However, if it continues, I would check with the doctor just to be sure.I had the exact same problem when I first started, which, by the way was just last week.  It seems to be subsiding, though.  Also, how do you feel when your medication wears off?  Are you exhausted and unfocused?  I am working with my doc on taking a second dose in the early afternoon.  Just wondering if you, as a newbie as me, are hitting that crash in the afternoon?
