desperate for a doctor (in Atlanta) | ADHD Information

In all honesty, I would be afraid to GO to a doctor that DIDN"t want to see me every 3 months.  Whether you have been taking these meds for years and years matters not - one still has to be checked and seen on a regular basis.  Wanting to see you every 3 months is quite liberal on the doctor's part.  Most would want to see you monthly.I've been taking Ritalin for 10 years, since I was 17 years old. Since I moved
to Atlanta, I've had incredible difficulty finding a doctor to prescribe my
meds w/o wanting to see me every 3 months. I have references from all my
past doctors re: that I've been taking these meds forever, I know how they
effect me, etc. I do *not* want to have to see a doctor every three months
so that a nurse can check my blood pressure and heart rate, and the doctor
can ask "how ya doing?" (well fine doctor - everything is the same as it's
been the past 10 years!!) anyone have similar problem? anyone have a
doctor in Atlanta that won't make me come in every three months?lightcat38972.821712963I will second the first comment here - especially when there are more cardiac concerns and warnings coming out about these medicines on a reasonably regular basis.

If the visit is short, and relatively painless - it is probably helpful in the long run.
