hey, thanks! I did that test and actually scored pretty high. I've also spoken to my mum who works at the local doctors on the reception and she has recommended the best doctor to go and visit.
Phheewwww! Feeling much better, thankyou so much for all your advice x
AmyGood advice from people already - go visit your primary care doc first, if you don't have one, go get one and sart there. Your symptoms sound like it, but there are lots of things that could be going on and if you get diagnosed by a pro, you will feel better having facts to decide what is up!!!
There are adhd specialist out there that you could call also. If you get diagnosed with adhd or whatever you also have to wade through your medical insurance rules and regs. to understand what your options are for follow through. Good Luck!!!
Blonde have you made a visit to your primary Dr. yet. That would be the 1st step, after you check out some ADDr web sites ie: www.about.com and type in ADHD. There are Dozens of other also. You can Google ADHD also ~~~
Hey, I'm new here and I need some help!
The thing is I've only really just found out about ADHD, and so have never been diagnosed, but I've been doing some reading and I think I may be a classic case!
For example:
- I often need to be told things two or three times before I take in whats being said
- I often start talking to people and halfway through what I'm saying completely forget what I was talking about
- I fidget REALLY badly (I've always put it down to being a musician) I click, tap, twitch constantly
- I have absolutely no patience, even when waiting for a page to load online I have to open up another browser to give me something else to do
- As I said I'm a musician and write brilliant songs....but they're never finished!
- I'm extreamly emotional and can't handle any form of criticism.
I'd really like to know if I have ADHD because it would put my mind at ease (I'm fed up of being seen as a dizzy blonde), but I'm not sure how to go about being diagnosed (do I need to be?).
I have recently stuggled in my job with talking to customers (I work part time in a shop), and it seems the only thing which keeps me focused is by drinking espresso and coffee all day which makes be really twitchy, nervous and gives me indigestion
Please, any advice or suggestions would be great...
Amsx
You sound pretty ADHD to me, go to your doctor with your list. Good luck!you can take a test online ahead of time if you wish - go to www.oneaddplace.com and click on online tests. They were my first step and they are very close to what you'll find.
Don't let preconceptions get you in advance. There are many treatments if it is ADHD - medications work very well (and there are more than stratterra so don't let your caregiver pidgeonhole you), therapy works fantastic (take it!) - there is more than one path to help.
Welcome!
