I'm sorry you got that call that's going to ruin your weekend. My only advice is to find a way to work WITH the school and not to FIGHT it. The Wrightslaw website has some really good info on this:
Their book "From Emotions to Advocacy" was a really good book, also. I found one in our local library.

Either she needs to find another vocation, be sent to an intensive week-long ADHD seminar, or she simply dislikes your son.

I would keep the reward in place (go to the theater) and separate it from any potential consequence for the behavior. If a child always has the rewards taken away, they get discouraged. We get much better behavior this way with our daughter. She used to lose every reward and just gave up trying. Now she gets wins and loses (far fewer loses than before) and her behavior has been getting better. I hope this makes sense.
gotta call from my sons teacher as soon as i walked in the door from work shes letting me know shes not gonna tolerate my sons behavior this so agravates me because my son was hitting name callin ect... last year and didnt get this kind of treatment and this shes having a problem with is him getting up and he walked out to use the restroom without permission which the other day she wouldnt let him go. i understand theres rules but this is the beginning of the school year and if she thinks these are problems. when i asked her how long has she taught no answer and i know you all are gonna tell me to switch teachers well thats not a choice shes the only one. what a way to start a weekend. where did all the teachers go that really cares and wants to help our children? principal is not there for the rest of the day go figure that.As well as at little ADHD training the teacher could use a reminder on proper form when calling parents. I was taught the positive- negative- positve approach so as not to make parents defensive. She should have started out with the great news about the spelling test, mentioned the undesirable behavior, then let you know what she planned to do about it in the classroom (reminders, behavior chart, etc.) and asked for your insite. SHE IS THE ONE WHO SHOULD BE TELLING HIM THAT THE NEXT TIME HE SHOULD NOT GET UP OUT OF HIS SEAT AND ASK TO BE EXCUSED, YOU ARE NOT IN SCHOOL WITH HIM ALL DAY SHE IS. IT IS FINE TO LET YOU KNOW WHAT HE DID BUT NOT COME TO YOU FOR THE ANSWERS. ALL OF THESE TEACHERS HAVE THE DEGREE TO TEACH OUR CHILDREN, THEY SHOULD KNOW HOW TO ADDRESS A PROBLEM WHEN IT COMES UP NO? SOMETIMES I FEEL THE TEACHER COMES TO ME FOR ALL THE ANSWERS TO MY SONS PROBLEMS, I DONT HAVE ALL THE ANSWERS, IF I DID MY SON WOULD NOT DO SOME OF THE THINGS HE DOES EITHER. JUST REMBEBER TRY TO INGORE THE BAD BEHAVIOR TO AN EXTENT AND PRAIZE THE GOOD ALOT. GOOD LUCK
