any bipolar ADDers? | ADHD Information

Is the interest/obsession a long term one??Coz if it is then im displaying some signs. Id never go out with my friends if there an important tennis match on tv and that euphoric anxiety attack happens when theres like a HUGE final and im in my own happy little bubble at school thinking about it. Its like nothing else is important at the time.

SOMEONE HERE POSTED THERE SON HAD THIS DX AND IT WAS REALLY ASD. dX AT AGE 11. Have you thought about getting your IQ tested? A lot of people can be mis diagnosed with adhd and really just be gifted. They share the same "hyper focus" and boredem. Bipolar can also closely mimic adhd, but their are some diff. With bipolar you should noticed periods of mania and depression. They may be small, but they will be significant enough for you to know it isn't normal. Boredom usually isn't a symptom of bipolar, hyper focus really isn't either. I would get your IQ tested. Just because you don't see it academically doesn't mean you aren't gifted.YOU CAN BE IN SE AND STILL WE GIFTED IS RIGHT. I SAW A ASD BLIND GIRL WHO PLAYS PIANO. TV SHOWED THIS GIRL.

you can definitely have both..i believe that's what "comorbity" means. I always thought Bipolar and ADHD were exclusive...you can have one or the other.  i'm pretty sure i have ADHD, but i also think i'm experiencing hypomania, pretty much every day. i'm going to list some symptoms; if anyone can relate to this, please let me know; i always feel like i'm the only one with these problems:

-overly enthusiastic about a certain topic (or sometimes even a person); pretty much any topic that is interesting--the problem is, it becomes overly-interesting and i dont care about anything else

-while overly enthusiastic about something, everything else just seems boring (prolly the ADD), and all i can concentrate on is this topic; whatever the topic is, it changes in anywhere from 1 week to 1 year-and then there's a new one.

-the enthusiasm reaches a point where it's almost like an anxiety attack, but a euphoric one. i start shaking, talking fast, breathing fast, but feel "happy" at the same time

-trouble concentrating on everything else.

i personally think it's a funny combo of bipolar mania, ADD, and possibly anxiety. i just wish i knew some other people that are having the same problems.what's ASD?
