Hi all,
I have a question about my son, he is 5 yo and has ADHD and ODD and last week we switched his meds and he has a horrible week
. But the week before he was on no meds because he fought about taking the medication and he behaved perfectly...I am so confussed now and dont know what to do.
He woke up this morning crying because his belly hurt and I know that this is a side effect but i was willing to allow his belly to be a little upset if it ment that he had great days at school.
Will his behavor get better once his systems get use to the medication? And how did he have a great week with out meds??
Any advice would be helpful
He had a meltdown shortly after my post...and know that he readjusted to the new meds he has less meltdowns..I think it was a gift that he controlled himself for that week(3 days) The world with an ADHD child is confusing. I have sympathy. I could console, but I have no advice. Well maybe I do, do what works, and what you feel is right and go from there. What works 1 day might not work the next, but keep trying. If he had a great week without the meds then he doesn't need to be on meds. If it was a great day without meds that's one thing. An entire week is a long time especially for an ADD kid. If he can control himself for that long he's probably better off without medication.
