I will be taking my son to a neurologist (developmental)  to have testing done.  CST has said he is mod to severe at beginning of 3rd grade, he is now in 4th.  Money has been the issue but have new ins now and a participating provider so can make that jump.  Kinda scared.  But anyway I knew from when he was preschool that he was...different.  much more active impulsive, clingy, physical  etc than his bro and sis was.   finally convinced dad that he isn't "just being a boy"  when other kids can't stand to be around him inclucding his own twin and sister. Which makes him mean and moody (understandably so)   so think I finally brought him over.  :)   DH is most def. was ADHD, now not so much hyper but definitely ADD and compulsive.   Kinda shut him up when he said ds was going to be hooked on drugs because of what I give him.  I said to him.. "  Did you do safe things when you were a kid  (NOT)  Did you do drugs, drink alcohol etc (YES)  Were you on medication for your adhd???(we were together in HS and I know what he did and am amazed we survived!!)

Son has been on Concerta 36 mg for  about 5 months now and it takes the edge off, although it wears off rather quickly after school, then we are in for it.  Forgot to give to him yesterday and it was the first day he got into trouble at school :(  and homework was a mess!, soccer he kicked some awsome goals but was off doing sky kicks with the ball at all other times.   It is days like that when you know they need the meds and whatever other help can be given.  Oh and I also give him 1 Omega 3 mood formula as well.

So anyway to the point--what exactly should I look for with this docter.  Appt won't be till Jan.  should I go to his previous teachers prior to meds and have them write something??

thanks
