seriously alternative option??? | ADHD Information

this is a bit light-hearted and i don't mean to offend anyone by seemingly not taking all the issues of an ADD child seriously... i know they are serious.  but this made me laugh.  and laughter is always good:

"I was having trouble with my 9 yr old & a person on another list suggested hugging a tree.  Of course to get him to do it I had to also. It completely turned him around & inspired me with the following knowledge.

Trees

Everyone is aware of the many physical benefits of trees. Trees also have another function that is not as well known in our current culture. Everything has a spirit essence & purpose also:

Transformation – taking negative energy away to balance & returning positive energy.

Service

Patience

Serenity

Resilience

Tenacity

So Hug a Tree Everyday.

Take a little Pure Water, ask the Spirit of the tree for it's help. Offer gratitude & thankfulness to the tree, then sprinkle a little pure water at the base of the tree.  Then hug the tree, close your eyes – breathing out your negativity (fears, worries, dislikes, frustrations, etc) whatever is out of balance for you & breathe in the opposite (love, compassion, understanding, patience, etc).

Think these thoughts with each in-breathe  & out-breath. Breathe in with your nose – positive & out through your mouth – negative.

Continue for a minute or longer. (with children shorter time)

When done sprinkle the tree & ground with your water in gratitude & thankfulness for the Tree, the Earth, the Water.

Human life could not exist without them."




Hey, whatever floats their boat! Sounds like a "tree hugger" to me...

You can do the deep breathing thing anywhere, anytime and get the same effect, without hugging a tree, or pure water.......pure water, what do they mean by that? Bottled water? Pure spring water? Whatever.

I hug my horse and breath in that horse sent......makes everything OK for me!
