Okay so every night at dinner time is a fiasco. We used to eat around 630 and now moved it up to 530. I still deal with the whining and the fits and tantrums "IM HUNGRY!!" from my 3yrold girl. I get so angry. Sometimes she hardly eats. I think she says it out of boredom or something. I feel like I could explode because she never understands the term wait, when she should.
I go through this when we leave the house, its just different" HOW LONG TILL WE ARE THERE? ITS TAKING TOO LONG!"....I just left the house sometimes. Any tips or advice?
Well, if it were my son, I would have him write 10 sentiences "I will be patient and not disrupt the house about dinner time." Every time he complained about it taking too long. See if that would work. After the first 20 or 30 sentiences, she might learn some patience. Wish I could help you more than this.I would do that but she is 3 and cannot write yet.... thx though, I could use that in the futuresydnee1138981.7134259259Is she impatient with waiting for the food? A carrot or a few saltines may hold her over until the plate comes. If it's not too disruptive, see if she can help you by handling a small task -- taking napkins to the table, putting out silverware, etc. My children are either looking at books or playing or using leap pads, etc. But if my soon to be 3-year-old is hungry, she'll cone and repeatedly ask for the food. I also use desert as an incentive to be patient (I don't usually give desert regularly, so that is why it works). Maybe one of these will be helpful to you. Good luck!Thx for the tip. Telling her she might get dessert or using it as an incentive wont work though, tried it. I gave her applesauce tonight but it worked for maybe 1 minute then she was back to the whining again. Its everyday.
I wish she would play or look at a book or watch tv, OR SOMETHING.....but she has to be where you are 24/7. Its always been this way. She can't do anything alone and if you refuse to do something with her or participate and say try it yourself she cries, throws tantrums, or calls your name endlessly, until you have to disicipline her.
