Yeah, that's what I have been thinking as well. I think this is something best kept to myself.
I would be concerned about loosing your security clearance. I am not sure that the AD Act would protect you. I had the same problem working for a health care company. As soon as I visited a Psychiatrist and started taking "controled substances" I started getting moved around and evaluated by different managers. One of them confided to me that he was supposed to provide a poor evaluation and establish a reason for termination. Your employer can get rid of you one way or another. I suggest that you start looking for or creating an ADD-friendly means of support. I think you can find citations in the ADD literature if you do a web search on the topic. I have found that I am much more relaxed and satisfied in work that allows me flex time, control over which work I want to take on (more interesting, varied, challenging). I also work much better with people who are more laid back. Control freaks and I do not get along. I like an egalitarian working relationship. For me and with my lifes experience and education, General Contacting and smaller remodling work is a good fit. I do not like doing repetative tasks. I will check out mentally as soon as it is not challenging and interesting.

I do not know but there is no way I would let my boss know. they are not allowed to discreminate against you because of it but the security issue is another can of worms.I am thinking about being evaluated for ADD and am concerned about how it might impact my work if I let my bosses know. I have had a top secret security clearance for about 15 years now. Does anyone have an idea of how this would impact a clearance? I'm concerned that they will deem me unstable and yank my clearance. Without my clearance I will be out of a job.
