Anyone know about breaks from patch? | ADHD Information

My daughter is 8 & I just spoke w/dr. this morning about not putting patch on her on the weekends. Has anyone done that? Her appetite is so small from the med and her skin so irritated that I thought the couple days would give her a chance to eat better & give her skin a rest. Besides, school issues are the main reason she is on the med. Anyway, Dr said she may experience some lag time come Monday morning when I put the patch back on her, but she should be fine. He said try it & see what happens. (She was his 1st pt on patch)But, he said he would not leave it off of her for 2 wks, like Christmas break, for example... well, that shot my next question to him out the window. Has anyone given their child rests from the patch? does it increase side effects starting up or worsening? Has your experience with it been okay?

Read through the patch threads. I have seen one person using oral meds on weekends to let the skin have a break. I know they are long.....

My daughter's doctor does not like med breaks until treatment is well established and we have a pretty good idea of the starting and stopping effects.
