Does anyone take 2 Adderall XRs per day? | ADHD Information

I just heard a doc talk about this at a drug dinner.  He says that as long as sleep is not affected, he is seeing improved results with dosing in the am then redosing again in the afternoon when it wears off.  Certainly something to ponder....  I wonder when other people besides researchers will try this dosing more regularly.I am currently takin adderall xr 20 mg. per day.  I take it at 7:00am and by 1:00pm, I'm foggy and unfocused again.  Does anyone out there take two XR doses rather than the second dose being immediate release?

I take two 20 mg Adderall xr per day.  My dr started my on a one-a-day prescription, but when I reported that the effect began to wear off in 6 hours, he simply changed the prescription to two/day.  

I usually take one at 7 a.m. and another around 1 p.m. --but may alter this depending on what's going on during the day (or evening--sometimes I have night meetings).

I used too when I was taking XR. Like you I could not get more than 6-7 hours of benefit. In fact, at times when the second part of the XR dose took effect I would feel jittery because the first part of the dose was still active.

Due to that I have given up on XR and now only take IR.
