Day one on daytrana | ADHD Information

She seems to be doing ok on it....the edges aren't stuck very good though. She seems very calm and focused though.

Well my hubby called me from work and was telling me he was real jittery, he said his hands were shaky, his stomach didn't feel right I wonder if he got some of the med on his fingers when trying to get that stupid backing off. He said it only lasted like 2hrs. Could this be possible? would it do this to him if he got it on his fingers??

I'm calling the doc and pharmacist first thing in the morning about this being so hard to get the backing off.

Welll we put the patch on at 6:30 am and let me tell you I have never had so much trouble getting the backing off of a patch. It was so hard and stuck on there that when we finally got it off I don't think the patch is going to stick very good to her. She was still asleep when we put it on and I sure hope that it works because I don't feel as of yet that it is worth the hassle of getting the backing off, it was so stuck. She will usually be up in the morning getting ready for school when we put the patch on.

I will update through the day.

So far so good here. My son says he doesn't even know it's there, which is a great thing.  He says he feels great on it.  We're only at day 2 just yet, so I'm hesitantly optomistic :)

Thankfully my son KNEW he needed the meds and thought it was so cool to have them in a patch :)
We are on Day 2 of the Daytrana and both times I know we lost a bit due to the problems with peeling off the backing.  Immediately after applying it, I wash my hands really well to make sure there's no medication on my hands.

So how is it working out for your children?

My daughter is doing great on it I have never had a med work sooo well, she cleaned her room the FIRST time I asked her to I was sooo tickled, she has never ever listened the first time. She is playing gameboy and about to go outside, then I will take off the patch at 3:00pm, anyway so far so goodI can't wait till tomorrow and see how she does in school.

The instructions definitely say to wash your hands after applying the patch or removing the patch.

Day 2

She woke up kinda cranky this morning but it could be because of a monday morning...all my kids seemed sleepy and the 2 younger ones are sick.and she didn't have her clothes out and ready so her routine was messed up.

When i removed the patch yesterday evening it left a red square and it was gone by this morning.

I honestly think it is a little too strong, she was like hyper focused on the gameboy yesterday and today she is at school, i am giving it a week and bringing her back to the doc.

ok yesterday we put the patch more on the legright under her pantyline and it was a light red square, today we put it under her panties on her hip and it is whelped and red. I put cream on it. Maybe the hip is more sensitive than the upper leg. I am going back to the leg tomorrow. That is where the doc told me to place it but read everywhere else to place it on her hip.

I posted some info about defective patches, and repoting it to Shire, on the "Daytrana Anyone" topic, page 20. The patch shouldn't be hard to apply, and you might be able to get some reimbursement.
