Good for you!  Let us know how that works!  crazymama, how will this help you pick meds?  It sounds interesting, let me know how it goes.  I've had at least 20 eegs in my life (siezures) and they're a breeze.  When I was young, my mom or dad would keep me up late (I'd get to watch Johnny Carson) and then the parent who went to bed at a reasonable hour would get me up early and take me for the eeg, which we always were able to schedule at 8 am.  The graph results used to print out on a long, folding type paper.  Now they go directly to the computer and the doc can look at them right away. It's not scary and I sure hope it helps! susieb-this is a little different, I think.  It is an rEEg.  Somehow it measures the brain activity and shows where the brain is overactive, and they know which meds work best on which areas, so then we just play match the med to the brain wave.  That is my understanding.I'm sorry, I thought the extra r was a typo!  Sounds really cool!  When is it? We are in the process of preathorizing it thru the insurance, so a while.  Ds has to be off meds for a certain amount of time, 2-8 weeks, I have to check with pdoc.  He is not on meds now anyways, as we were going to start trying new meds.I called my insurance, and they might cover a test for my son called an rEEG.  This is to measure brain waves to help us choose a med, as we have had a horrible time with meds.  Pdoc said insurance doesn't cover it, and I called anyways.  I hope it will cover it.  It would be nice to have some hard data about ds.
