Apple Party! | ADHD Information

I have been doing so well at watching what my ADHD daughter has been eating - been pretty proud of myself!  Anyway, today she came home and was OFF THE WALL.  Doing flips and putting her feet on the walls, etc.  This is her normal hyper self, but she's been doing so much better since I've been watching what she eats.

So, she then excitedly told me that they had an "Apple Party" at school.  She had apples, apple sauce, apple cider and apple suckers.  So, my question for you pros is what do you think the contributor was?  Just the sugar?  Or do any of these things have dyes - do you know?  I could just see SUCH a difference and wanted to know what you thought...

THANKS SO MUCH!

Wow - I didn't even know what salicylates were!  I'm new to this - can't believe that there is so much to watch out for...

I'm gonna try it out and see if it makes a difference.  Thank you!

Certain coloured apples are high in salicylates .. a common food sensitivity. Apple suckers contain additives, preservatives, food colouring, sugars (I'm assuming). If the cider had cinnamon in it, it's also high in salicylates. If she's sensitive towards salicylates, I wouldn't doubt she was off the wall. The best apple (if this were the case) is yellow apples. They don't contain as high salicylates and it's the only coloured apple I buy my son.
