ADDERALL has worn off, ADVICE PLEASE | ADHD Information

Chris, does your psychiatrist, in addition to checking on the performance of your meds and writing you  prescriptions also offer you any counseling?  Mine doesn't, so I see someone else for that, and it helps a great deal.

Meds help me but don't do it all, at least not for now.  I suggest if you don't have someone to help you work out all the challenges you are facing, to try to find someone familiar with ADD and qualified to work with you to augment the meds.

Thanks ,

As far as a psychiatrist, i dont have one. I dont have insurance so just getting my meds every month is a pain. I know i need to see one.  Ive realized this past year that a majority of my problems have stemmed from ADD, knowing that helps, but yeh, i need ot go see someone. I emailed my doc and havent heard back, told him i lied on my med check, so we will see what he wants to do. but again, thanks everyone for your advice

I havent posted in months, things have been going down hill and i havent been able to find the time, which brings me to my post, I'm been on Adderall 30 mgs. once @ 5:30 a,m and again @ noon, it isnt working any more, not only have i lost what help i was getting from it when i started last November, the feeling i guess i should say, but i'm also gainging weight again? whats up with that?? i went months loosing weight, feeling more organized, notebooks full of things to do so i dont forget, motivated i gues syou could say, and now all i want to do is sit on my couch "bla" like i used to. Im ADD Inattentive, and im afraid to talk to my doc, i dont want to switch meds, i was misdiagnosed for 10 years with depression and i lost my sex drive, and the side affects and changing of meds, were absolutely terrible,  my doc, once correctly, diagnosed me had to practically tie me down to get me to try Aderall and i love that i have a sex drive again and the way i felt, no bad side affects. i've heard of a med vacation, but do ya'll think that maybe he needs to raise my dose or is 30 mg twice a day pretty standard???? I know i need to talk to him, but i woudl rather be the wayit is now then risk a new med and loosing the little i have now. So, any suggestions or advice?

I don't see how you can manage the meds 7days a week.  A med break sounds like a good idea to me.  Talk to your doctor, he might put you on something else that you like better.  Remember, if another med doesn't work, you can always go back to adderall.  Personally, 20mg of adderall 1x a day for 4 days a week causes enough paranoia let alone, any more medication would drive me off the wall.
