Southerbelle...That is just wonderful news! I'm so happy for your son. He sounds like he has a wonderful and loving teacher that really gets him. That will make such a difference in his school success. I bet you were just doing the happy dance when you seen that 98%
. Brag away Southerbelle, you deserve it!My son got his report card on thursday and we had a parent/teacher meeting that afternoon. We (my husband and I) got to the room, the teacher had a print out of things they are doing in the classroom, to let us know what he needs to work on and what he is doing well at. I looked down at the section titled BEHAVIOR, and do you know what it said? NO PROBLEMS. Can you believe it? My husband and I looked at each other and said, "Did you think we would ever see that?". He had all A's and get this, a 98 in conduct! I know this only the first six weeks and he is only in 1st grade, but after a horrible year in kindergarten, I am just beside myself! He has a wonderful teacher this year, she has been doing this for 25 years and has seen it all. When we told her about his ADHD, she said she could see it. I told her if he wasn't medicated, he would be bouncing off the walls, she said "oh that doesn't bother me." Can you believe that? I just love that she is concerned about getting him where he needs to be, and doesn't stay on him about every little thing.
Sorry I'm rambling, I just wanted to brag about my babys success!
Congratulations!! You just feel like I felt last friday in "I want to tell the world post". It feels very good when you finally see results in all the efforts you are doing and it deserves that you get it all out of you and share it with others. Thanks God I found all of you, I really feel great support

. It is good to have excellent teachers. In my case, I was lucky this year; last year it was awful. My son's two teachers (English and Spanish) are really willing to help him achieve his personal goals.

Treasure this teacher!! She may even be able to teach you and your husband about your son with all her years as a teacher and that experience!! I hope you never have to experience the "other" type of teachers out there.
And I consider my 9 year old still my baby, I am very protective of him due to what has occurred in his few years of life by cruel people, both adults and children!

If he doesn't like a teacher, that's the one he gives a hard time to. I think most ADHDers are like that (and probably most people, too). Don't experiences like this make your spirit soar? It makes the hard work of raising an ADD/ADHD kids worthwhile!
