Money, money, money.... | ADHD Information

''Ya well, Your mother wears Army boots''! LOL !

Mater tua caligas gerit!
Used to be much more of an insult than it is now.
Most people are not trying to make money off of ADD. They are getting paid for providing services. Other than borrowing books from a library I really can't think of anything else in life that's free. Libraries aren't really free either since many are funded by our tax dollars.
Don't get me wrong there are "some" people out their who are just trying to make money. Most of us have worked very hard learning about ADD and getting trained. We would love to be able to give our services are for free but we need to eat and pay our bills.

I think you're being over-sensitive on this as a service provider. I have viewed your site and think you are an excellent resource for someone. I would not hesitate to recommend you based on your site info.
However, I think Anteros is right on.
Because treatment for ADD is controversial you have plagues of vermin touting scams and unproven remedies. And, like Anteros mentioned, I rarely visit an ADD -related site that is not trying to push some book, or CD's or herbal supplements or yada, yada, yada. Even as I write this there are multiple ads on this page for "Natural Remedies" for ADD.
Even though we know these don't work, the owner of this site is receiving cost-per-click income from Overture when an ad link is clicked on. (In fairness many ad delivery service don't allow the site owner to pick and choose the ads. They are usually served based on keywords extracted from the site by a web-bot.)
What's unfortunate is that many (I assume) fall for this crap and ultimately let their ADD go untreated (even if they assume they're improving). It also serves to hide the truly legitimate and excellent resource sites that everyone should be tuned into.
So in other words you're calling me a woman?
LOL ! I can just see 2 kids on the playground with their fists up in the air, ''Who you callen' a woman'' ? ''Ya well, Your mother wears Army boots''! LOL !
There's always CHADD (www.chadd.org) - a not-for-profit organization advocating for ADHD and autistic rights and resources. There are local meetings popping up all over. Check them out.
Face it though - as soon as someone puts a name to a problem - the next person up is the one with a money-making scheme. It's capitalism at it's best/worst.
I read what you said too quickly at first and thought you were saying us with ADHD were out for money. I had to take a few deep breaths - get off my soapbox and read it nice... and.... sloooowly. LOL!!!
Check out CHADD. Might help.
So in other words you're calling me a woman?

John you are correct!
Anteros > maybe that's because woman in general will search out and discuss and talk to other woman about and talk to their Dr and seem in general to be More pro.active about health problems.
Whereas men in general are not as willing to track down and find out what's wrong with them until they can't move ! LOL
Anteros ~ Have checked out
www.about.com > they seem pretty reliable so far

Thanks John, wasn't bad! But it seemes they are very oriented on the female ADD.... But I'll read more

Anteros,
such is life.
People will try to make money with anything.
This is not new. It's the same in europe.
I know it's nerve-wracking.
The world makes you feel that you just exist to consume.
I guess everyone needs money,huh ?
worldisround38996.4584259259Is it just me that has the impression that "everybody" wants to make money on ADD/ADHD? I meen, I've searched, and searched for some help to understand my disorder, and it seems that all of the socalled recources on the net wants you to register, and then of course buy a book that gives you all the answers! Well, i may have ADHD, but I've never tought of myself as stupid!
