FOCUS Helping? | ADHD Information

We started our son on FOCUS last Thursday - he has not officially been diagnosed with ADHD or anything else, but exhibits a lot of the symptoms.  We go to see the ped psychiatrist for first time tomorrow.

I decided to try FOCUS just to see if it would help because I don't know how long it will take to even diagnose him and his behaviors were so bad at school I was desparate to try something.

He had good days at school on Friday and Monday - Saturday we took him to his cousins football game and then to a pumpkin farm, and although it was a busy day with lots of activity, I did not ever see him spiral out of control.  Even at the game, he and his 3 year old brother were imitating the football game and tacking each other - he was very appropriate almost the whole time.  Usually it will go from ok tackling to too rough pushing and such.

I talked to his teacher this morning, and she said he definitely did better with standing in line and hands to self, but she is going to keep an eye on him to see if it seems like he is better able to focus during circle time.

So far, so good!  I am hoping that at the very least this will help him out as we try to determine his diagnosis!

I just received the focus today... can't wait to try it tomorrow morning.....I will be trying the focus together with the marbles system.......my life will boring... no excitment from school or at home..hummm!!.

Oh it would be so great if it was that easy huh!

I am hoping that it will at least take the edge off so that he has a little more control.

Good luck to you!!  We find the marble system to be working very nicely...most of the time!

NATURAL STUFF DOES TAKE LONGER THAM MEDS SO REMEMBER THAT. 4/6WEEKS IN SOME CASES.

Yeah, I don't know what I want to do right now.  My daughter has been on it for about a week and is even more hyper than before.  I know that it does take 4-6 weeks sometimes, but I can't do 4-6 weeks of worse hyperness.

I am worn down at this point.  I've also got three year old twins and I'm nursing a 7 mo. old.  By the time my adhd daughter gets home from school, I'm tired and by bedtime, beyond myself - can't think.  Then I feel horrible because she doesn't see the "good" me.  I don't have much patience at that point.

The guilt never ends!  I do need to figure something out though.  Maybe I'll just stick with it and see...

Just keep swimming, just keep swimming...

I started using the marble system yesterday as well and I received Focus yesterday.  I'm going to wait until the weekend to give it to him to make sure he doesn't have and weird side effects.  The marble system seemed to go pretty well but he's inconsistent with his behavior so I'm not sure if it was the marbles or just "one of his good days".  We'll wait it out and see.  I'm also planning to start him on Omega 3s after I get the results of the bloodwork he had yesterday.  Before I start him on any vitamin supplements I wanted to get all kinds of bloodwork to make sure he doesn't have an iron deficiency or anything else.I am worn down at this point.  I've also got three year old twins and

Wow. I feel for you hun! My kids are 8 1/2 months apart. My 5 year
old son is ADHD (unmedicated) and in school, and my almost 5 year
old daughter, who I think is just a little hyperactive, stays home with
me and we homeschool. I know by the end of the day I am
exhausted and can only imagine what it's like for you.
You will be in my prayer list!!! I received the focus.. how does it works... it says 9 drops... do i put the liquid in the container and let it drip 9 times. We used focus for a little while with no results. You basically put the amount of drops into a small glas of juice, or water. My problem was DD hated the taste, said it was bitter, and refused to take it after a day or two.
