ADD? | ADHD Information

I was just hoping for an opinion on my situation. I am an 18 year old college student and I am considering getting tested for ADD/ADHD. I do well in school and have always gotten good grades but I started noticing my last couple of years in high school and now especially in college that I have real concentration problems. For instance, I make constant lists of things to and schedules and no matter how hard i try i can never seem to complete them. Even the littlest things seem to distract me. I also have an extremely hard time reading anything that isnt really easy to comprehend. I find myself reading the material but not really comprehending. It leaves my brain as easily as it enters. I even start to daydream in the middle of books. I also can never seem to do homework until the last minute. I find myself having to unplug my computer just so I dont get the urge to get on the internet. I am supposed to be writing a paper even now as we speak. I just feel as if something is off because I put so much effort into doing work and i can never seem to concentrate long enough to do it. I used to brush it off as laziness but not I know its not because I get so upset by the fact that despite my best efforts i cant seem to finish anything. Your problems with reading sound a great deal like the difficulties that I have had.  If the material was hard to comprehend, or not interesting to me, I would not be able to absorb it at all.  When I was in college, it always seemed as if I would have to work twice as hard as my classmates in order to maintain my grades.  I would also find myself procrastinating about certain tasks that I might find difficult.  Having difficulties with finishishing tasks is a symptom that many of those with ADHD have experienced.  I think that you should probably follow through with getting tested.  If you get treatment now, your college years will probably go more smoothly, not to mention your future after college!
