Thanks everyone for your replies. I think, and I hope, I found the cause of my sons sudden rebouding...I was giviing him a suppliment that contained DMAE in it. I didn't think of it until I was on the thread here in the altnernative section where other people said thier child become more hyper while taking it. He has been on it for about 2 weeks, which is the usual time for my son to start to show signs that something isn't working for him.
Thanks again for all the feedback..I really appreciate it!

Hi- I would think that the concerta only lasts a certain # of hours and if you give it earlier it will wear off earlier. My son is also on 54 mg and he takes it at 7 am and it only lasts until about 3 pm.
If your son is really unbearable then maybe you could consider a short acting Ritalin for 4-7 pm...
My doc told me that I should adjust the time I take 72 mg of concerta in the morning. He said adjust the time according to what I have going on that day and if my day extends longer than usual, I could adjust in the morning. The medication for me lasts about 7 to 9 hours!!!! I take 54 mg and it has it's ups and owns but it really does help me. Sometime i have to have Ridilan after school for Dance and Homework. I use to hate taking a pill but now i am glad i did.well i for one, take concerta first thing when i wake up for school. since i have to take clonodine at night for the adhd-not being able to SLEEP at night hyperactivity part, my concerta usually wears off at a good time maybe about 2 or so hours before i take meds for bed. as long as your kid is gettin the concerta in the morning. if i wake up past noon.. its no good because i'll be wide awake for a lot longer at night and find it more challenging to sleep.Does anyone know if it makes a difference if you take Concerta the same time every day. My son is on 54 mg and he use to get it at 7:30 a.m., but because he was unbearable in the a.m. I know give it to him during school days at 6:30 a.m., but on the weekends, I wait until 7:30 a.m. This week I noticed the concerta seems to be wearing off around 4:00 instead of 7:00 p.m. like it was. I was just wondering if the switching of times is screwing it up. Any advice would be helpful!
Thanks.
