taking adderall for the 1st time | ADHD Information

I love adderall. It's the only drug that has ever helped me. It doesn't work good if you drink orange juice with it though so stick to other beverages. I have had no side effects at all and have been on it for 4 years.adhdentirelife - my son takes dexamphetamine (I am not sure what the USA equivalent is) and this made a big difference for him.  It controls his behaviour issues very well and helps him focus.  I just worry about it all tho.  Makes his heart beat pretty fast.

Thank you for all of your help. I am glad there are others out there who know what I am going through.

I do drink orange juice and a cup of coffee every morning so I will have to change that. . I take 20 mg daily and feel great so far. I have a re evalation in a few weeks as far as the dosage. As far as drinking water, I drink a ton. I get kidney stones daily and drinking a lot of water helps.

I take adderall XR, and it makes a significant difference. I take (2) 20mg per day, and have been told I probably need 60, but 40 is pretty good. I do drink the coffee every morning, but no juice...LOL maybe I should drink the coffee either really early or  later on...

Yes, take it on an empty stomach with water. You need a base-line. The medication is absorbed from your urinary track. This means you need a lot of water after the morning pee. Don't drink coffee if you can help it, if you just can't do without the coffee try to drink just half a cup. Orange juice or a Sprite will wipe out about 90% of the drug. Adderall has a lot of interdictions Citric Acid, Vitamin C, some B Vitamins etc.

Don't do this your first time. But I mix up some baking soda with water and drink it as I take my pill. Because Baking Soda (not powder) helps you absorb more amphetamine.

Don't be alarmed if it does nothing for you at first In my case I get no results with anything less then 60MG . What strength do you have?

Hi, I am taking my first dose of Adderall tomorrow. I was on Straterra for about 2 months and it was not controlling my ADHD very well. Any one out there have GOOD things to say about the medication.
