ARD Meeting today | ADHD Information

i know.  they take all the arts and physical ed out of school and then test the children.  Then tell the parents how poorly they are doing.  But they all told me not to worry about it.  They told me Not all kids are going to be at the same levels at the same times/ages.  I knew it but it's sure nice hearing it.  He is almost at a genius IQ, so i think that makes up for the not being able to do all the sit ups and pull ups.  lol  he might not be one of the strongest boys in school, but he is one of the smartest!!I think that they assume children are doing some kind of physical activity at home. I could never climb that darned rope!  Glad things went well, Ogram!  On the whole, I'd rather be a bit behind in P.E. than, say, reading.  That makes me remember back in the day when we had to test for the Presidents Patch in PE.  We never practiced for it at all.  I didn't pass even one event.    Much less pass all 7 or 8 to get the patch.  I think I'm still pissed about it!We had the dreaded ard meeting today.  every thing went very good.  they took him out of the occupational therapy and he is no long qualifying as l.d.  just adhd and speech therapy.  they did, however, say that he is a bit behind in his "physical education".  things like push ups, sit ups, running, and things like that.  I asked them how often do they have P.E.  and they said 3 times a week.  and then i asked how if they do those things in P.E. and they said, well, no, not every time.  Then i said, why test the children on things he is not expected to do.  lol  What a strange way to test children.  We want them to be athletic, but not teach them athletics.    don't get me wrong, i love his teachers!!!  they are GREAT!!!  The hole school system is fantastic, but some things like this are a bit lacking in logic.
