how long before I give up? advice please | ADHD Information

hey all,
week 4 starting this sunday with Adderall xr. Started out with 4 days at 10mg and then went to 20mg. Well I had the usual side effects, increased heart rate, headache, etc etc. All of that is gone now. I noticed that when the dose wore off I was as good as a puddle of jello at getting things done.
I talked to my doc, and she gave me a 10mg IR for the afternoon dose. Not saying it's working, but I've not seen anything.
The first week I was on the adderall, I noticed specifically with my reading my homework, how I was slow and precise with it...now gone.
So, I'm wondering if I need more adderall or a different drug.

I'm under a huge amount of stress, in a class that is harder than heck....wishing that I'd have some great results with the adderrall, but nada, zip, zilch...

In the afternoon, I feel the worst cotton mouth I've ever had...
I'm irritable, mad, anxious, feel like I want to puke, shake, and plain old worry so much more than I noticed before. I still don't feel like I get a single thing accomplished at all...not much change from before...
Also with the adderrall, I notice my mind spacing more now than when I wasn't on any meds.

I'm not sure what to do, the docs all talked about this wonderful thing that i'd notice, I haven't seen much to think it's wonderful and working.
So I'm curious, is any of this expected? what would you do if you were me?

I had those same symptoms when I was overdosed with (mixed amphetamine salts). If I were you, I would lower the dose back to 10mg a day and see how that goes.

It seems like when the dose is wrong, the chemicals in the brain get messed up and can actually get worse. Thats what happened to me.

Just my opinion.
