maurovz: It's possible that you cannot tolerate adderall. However, here is my thinking. 25 MG your first time might have been to much.
Since it was your first time as it started you began to imagine all sorts of bad things. The brain is pretty powerful like that. The first time I used ritalin I would get all these symptoms, like a strange feeling when I wasn't on it, chest pain, bad stomace gas and the like. Since I was in Japan and didn't have access to doctors I was really upset. When I returned to America and had it all checked out, it was just the normal Ritalin crash. Doh!
So, don't limit yourself when you visit the doctor.
Your reaction to Adderall sounds very much like a "panic attack" to me. Not sure about the buzzing in your ears - I'm not sure that would come with a panic attack? Anxiety about taking the pill for the first time and fact that amphetamines can make anxiety worse could well trigger an attack - and you were studying for a test too! Plus, if this was a reaction to the Adderall, it would only last as long as the drug does and Adderall does not last that long. 25mg of Adderall XR is not a lot of drug either. I have heard of very similar situations where a panic attack was mistaken for a bad reaction to a drug or an allergic reaction.maurovz, First thing you should do is contact your doctor. I agree with shinsetu_hito, this could be just to much Adderall XR for you. Although Adderall XR should wear off in 12 hours my son when given to high a dose had some similar experiences where he could not sleep and was aggitated for many hours after it should have been out of his system. When the dose was lowered those problems went away.
Although nobody else has said this. It is not recommended that you take Adderall XR at 11:00 PM. This should be taken in the morning to get you through the day. I underastand you are a student and so your days run into nights with studying and everthing. I would suggest for now until you get the Adderall or another ADHD drug dosage worked out you only take it in the morning to avoid if possible another episode such as you 've had. Once the dosage is worked out you can add a short acting version of adderall (4 hours) if you need to study in the evening. This works well for me when I have things I need to get done at home in the evening. Personally I can't take it later than 4 PM though to ensure I sleep well. That's really weird, I wish my adderall worked that long. I'm on adderall xr and after 7 hours it is completely out of my system. Which is really annoying. If is makes you paranoid it obvioulsy isn't the drug for you.Hey, sorry to hear about that. Beer always works to calm me down (no more then 2 beers) But, I think this might be a reaction in your head. I'm curious though, adderall won't keep you up for 30 hours like Dexedrine or something. There is something else going on. Are you going to stop taking it?It's been over 24 hours since I took adderall XR 25mg. I think I had a bad reaction to it... I took it Friday at 10 or 11 PM so I could study for a test... Its Sunday 3:00 AM ( about 28 hours after the dose )and I still feel like my ears have a a busssing going on that doesn't let me sleep. I also get really paranoid and I feel like something bad is going to happen. When my adderall wears off at night I get uncomfortable and restless. They need a 24 hour Adderall. Still it's the only med that has ever helped me so in my case dealing with uncomfortable nights is a small price to pay to be more comfy during the day.My daughter does the same thing. I can tell exactly when her adderall wears off. I don't have an answer, but I can say that I can relate. Hope that helps some. First of all I like to say that I'm very impressed with all the people in this board, and how you help each other.If it's really a problem tell your doctor and he will most likely give you a reg strength pill for night time. Myself I'm trying to wrangle regular strength and get off the XR altogether, but Reg adderall can be crushed and snorted so they are pretty strict with it. I don't like it to the point I haven't taking one since Wednesday. The reason, I can't enjoy sex for 3 or 4 days. I have to pee sitting down (my wife like that) I would rather use the drug when I need it, I have no options if I need something at night. Etc.
Yea, and one more thing I forgot. Adderall was designed from the start to avoid abuse. They tout 4 mixed amp. salts, but what they don't tell you is some of those amphetamines are not fun when overused, they make you nervous and edgy. These are the same kinds of stimulents found in Nasel Sprays and the like.
