I wanted to introduce myself and blindly thank all those that have posted here, the support and information is amazing.
I am a single mom of three, my oldest is overly bright and has no real issues except anxiety with her Dad.
My son is ten and was diagnoised 2 years ago with ADD and a mild learning disability, he was places in special language arts classes at school and with very interactive teachers and has improved greatly. We still have issues at home but they are mild, he is to this day still unmedicated.
I also have a 7 going on 8 year old and bless her loving little heart she is truning me white early, she NEVER stops, defiante, lost in space... You all know it, seen it and deal with it daily ... she is ADHD combined hyper/impulsive. We have near misses every day and some serious collisions also. All three of my munchins are in counsling for other family related issues when it was suggested to test her for it, the standard test on a computer showed her 99% likely to have an attention deficate issue. We saw a psychologist/psychiatrist today and he finished running test on her, even he was a bit at a loss watching her go from chair, to bouncing to drawing to my lap to fidget with my hair and glasses then back to the board to draw and around and around she went. I didnt try to control her just let her do her thing so he could see what she is really like on a daily basis. He said shes probably one of the most cut and dry obvious cases hes ever dealt with. We go back on the 31st to discuss what meds exactly to try...
I am very open to suggestion and words of wisdom.

My best advice is to not look for any quick fixes. It can be a long journey, but always be vigilant that you do what is best for your child. Don't settle for results that may not be best for her.Hi Madeson,
