Daytrana patch & heart problems or testin | ADHD Information

My dd's psych also ordered an EKG proir to even suggesting meds. She has a follow up EKG every 3 years, and will continute to have them as long as she is using meds.My son is 8 and has been on the patch for about 3 months now. He is doing great at the 20mg.  I was wondering since there have been some concerns about some of the ritilin type drugs and heart problems if I should have my son get an ekg or something like that to test for heart problems.  any advice?

My daughter's doctor did an ekg to rule out heart problems prior to starting her on Concerta, which is methylphenidate like the patch but a different delivery system.
