Does he have the problems when the med is wearing off (rebound effect) or while the med is in the active time? Either way, if he has adapted before to med increases, he should adapt again. Either way, if it were me, I would address the concerns with his doctor.I was wondering if someone could help me. My 9 year old son has ADHD, it seems whenever we have to increase his medication he is worse than before.  He has defiant problems, and he just is plan down right stubbron.  I am wondering if medication increase can bring on these problems. Every time we increased his medication his behavior got worse.  We had seen his Specialist on Monday, the Doctor said our son couldn't handle the group of medication he was on so, our son got put on Strattera.  Mabey go see your son's Specialist or Doctor.im only 14 years old..i have a brother that is 12 years old. I got on this to see if anyone could help me but it seems like i cant tell you a lil bit. My brother increased his medication and it made him a lot worse. Sometimes it made him get so tired in the day and just break down. Or he was so hyper and stubborn that our whole family just wanted to kill him. (we dont really feel that way towards him) i hope that might help...from someone else who has had problems like that.oh and by the way my brother is the one with adhd
