here,they don't start school until they are 5.before that it is just nursery.
what do you mean too wild to control,my 4 year old has no sense of danger,keeps having accidents,he is wired(i call him my puppy on speed)i have to watch him 24/7 and so does the nursery.
has he got an IEP at school,have you tried behavioral therapy,massage therapy,movement therapy,some have luck with homeopathy.
I have a 4 year old son who was diagnosed with ADHD. His doctor tried him on Adderall, Ritalin and Strattera. All of these medicines made him worse. Right now he's on Clonidine and his doctor just perscribed Risperdal. He is doing good with the Clondine but in the aftertoon he gets to wild to control sometimes. My question is these two drugs mixed together at night, what will it do for him. Both drugs are the lowest doses. My concern is I don't want him to be a zombie, but I want him to focus a little better in school and at home. Yes my son is in a IEP call Covered Bridge. We have not tried Behavioral Therapy yet can you give me more info on this?well,i am in scotland but i know you have it in the usa.i'll ask some of the other mums,they don't come to that board as much.try the parent board you'll get more answers,in the meantime,i'll ask others to come here and answer your questioni think ur psychologist can help w/this......not sure....i need to do this w/my daughter also!

hello and welcome.... i to have a son who is 4 yrs old... and dillon has been on both those meds... dillon also was put on ADHD meds and it made him worse... that is when we discovered he was bipolar.. risperdal is for bipolar... not trying to scare you... neither one of those meds zombied dillon out... be very careful with risperdal... it seems to put weight on children.. they seem to get like a horse... and it made dillon drool... REALLY bad.. but that was at a high dose.. is your son seeing a behavioral therapist? dillon has been seeing one for almost a year now and we are seeing some improvement.. it does take time... i wish you luck ...oh and one other thing... clondine seem to make dillon very restless at night and he would cry out in his sleep...
