Seroquel at nite | ADHD Information

My son is also on seroquel at night.  He presently takes 150mg at night for his bipolar and also for his sleep disturbances.  It does wonders for my son.  He does not feel groggy during the days on it.  Does your son have problems with sleeping at night?  If he does then  the seroquel will help.

We give my son Adderall 15mg & Seroquel 50 mg & trileptal 300 mg in the morning.  The Dr told us we should give him 50 mg of Seroquel & 300 mg of trileptal at night also, to keep the blood concentration high.  My husband feels that the dose at night is a waste and that he is just sleeping on it and would like to discontinue taking it at night.  Does anyone else have a Dr that also suggests giving meds at night ?  Do you think it helps ?

Some meds need to be in the system 24/7 to avoid the ups and downs (and extra side effects). The stim meds (adderall) are the ones used only during time of need (school, homework, some activities). Discuss with the doctor the reason for the way the meds are prescribed.

My daughter is on guanfacine 3x a day (including one at bed) to keep the levels some what even in her system and the concerta (stim) is used during the day only.

My son is on seroquel he only takes it in the afternoon around 1:30pm, the doctor don't have him take it in the morning because he is not having the meltdowns at school only at home and it seems to be working great, and his sleeping patterns are really good.
