Seperation Anxiety ? | ADHD Information

My son worries also.  He frequently goes to the nurse to tell her he doesn't feel good cause he knows they will call me.  He tells me he misses me while he's at school.  I've spoken to the Docs about his issues but the first thing out of their mouth is medication and I'm just not at that point yet.  MY son is 8 years old and lately he is showing signs of major seperation anxiety from me.  He has always had the anxiety but lately it has gotten worse.  It is actually affecting his behavior at school.  Last week he had a major meltdown he was crying in the bathroom because he tried to call me during the morning time and i was not at home and he knew that.  He knew that mommy had errands to run.  His ed teacher has never seen him act like that about me.  Also he has been asking his teacher if he could go home, call me, have me come up to lunch becasue he misses me and he needs to make sure that i am okay.  He says that he misses me and wants to come home because he is afraid that somebody is going to hurt me when he is not home. 

I guess my question is that I have always told the doctors about his anxiety but it has getting worse.  How do I make the doctors see that it is also affecting his behaviour at school.  The doctors just want to brush it off.  We have a doctors appt today and I basically gonna tell this doctor that something has to be done about this. I cant have my little man who is only 8 constantly worry about his mommy when he is not around.
