Is your son on a generic methylphenidate? Methylphenidate is the generic for of Ritalin. The med is also in Concerta, Daytrana and other short and long acting forms. My daughter is on Concerta (long acting form) and had weight loss problems that are now resolved. Everyon acts differently to these meds and will even act differently to the different forms. If you are noticing side effects, talk to the doctor, who can then adjust the dose or start a different med (or form) based on your son's specific needs.

hi my son is 8 and is on this drug,is there anyone with a child on this and are they having any side effectshe is on equasym,2 x 5mg in morning and 1mg at dinnertime.i havent noticed much difference yet..........
