Here is an interesting fact, there is only 1% of the Ontario population that has schitzophrenia and the government has placed a lot of money for support.  Did you know that 4% of the population has ADHD, but very little support?

Not even funny- It was odd that here in the States, they used to label me with the "schizo" terms, and manic depressive, without the depressive side- kinda' like peanut butter n' jelly without the jelly.  I keep repeating in this forum, that I thank God that science has found this common ailment and labelled, and treated it more efficiently.  Thorazine....I lost about two years memory from my life because of being so sedated on Thorazine.  Fought the "medicine" everyday just to stay awake.

Well, before I proceed to what I know was a wonderful workshop seminar on ADHD, I started using Concerta at 18mg last Wednesday.

As I read many of your forum feedbacks in regards to Concerta, I thank you for the information to the characteristics of this product.  Although, I did get a buzz, the most significant characteristic that I had was very mild headaches.  On a positive note, I can actually look at someone in the face and actually concentrate to comprehend. I did not have the impusive or hot tempers for it assisted me in letting go of the situation.  Also, my mind wasn't going haywire.

Now the workshop.  It was a one day interactive workshop held here in Toronto, which about 30-40 showed up.  The Clinical Services Network presented adult ADD/ADHD with highly renowned doctor in the field of ADHD here in Toronto.  He explained in great detail how using proper control of medication can assist an ADHD recipient to become "normal".  There were medical professionals and people with ADHD and family members wanting to learn more.  In fact, a psychiatrist just recently found out they had the characteristics.

He emphasized the fact of a movie called "Odd Kit Out" is very benefiicial for people.  The young man in this movie, is now 17 years old was at this workshop with his mother.  She actually works in the film business in which she directed this movie.  She is working on the second movie as she spoke.  What I found very interesting from her is that George Lucas had hired a group of experienced people with ADHD to assist in the recent Star Wars movies  (Go figure!).

There is going to be a Canadian web base in regards to ADHD: www.caddac.ca.  Although, it is in the early stages, it will start very shortly.

Did you know that ADHD recipients have 3-5 more headaches than "normal people"?

As I mentioned in an earlier forum, ADHD recipients have smaller brains as well.

Now here is something very interesting, as you may know Ritlalin was also used for students who were not ADHD for it gave them a buzz at the time of college exams.  The MC stated that tests were done with Concerta on normal people and people with ADHD at the time of college exams.  The Concerta would not give a normal person a buzz because their brain functioned normally.  Apparently, Concerta cannot be used in a powder base form, melted and injected as others have in the past.

It looks like I have finished babbling for the interin and I hope that I given you some valuable information.  I know there will be some negative feedback.
