Coming off meds | ADHD Information
It could be the meds when they crash, it is hard for the kids. My daughter when she was on Concerta used to get so crabby and irritable then it would go away. If it continues talk to your doctor it is called rebound. My girls have only been on the meds for a couple of days now, but they seem to get very sensitive and needy in the later afternoon. Is this from coming down off the meds? Does this go away eventually? Is it just coincidence? What are they on? Sometimes it gets better as they get used to the meds. If not, there are a couple ways for the doctor to adjust the meds for better results. Call the doctor to see how long to keep trying, before trying something different or other adjustment.
They are taking Concerta 18mg. They are 7 years old. One was complaining of headache, tummy ache and sore throat. Can they get reflux from this stuff?
Both headache and stomache ache are side effects of the methylphenidate meds (including concerta).

Some people get over these problems when they get used to the med, others have to discontinue. Make sure they are getting plenty of water with the meds and through the day to avoid dehydration. Of course discuss these concerns and when they occur with the doctor.
