Is there anyting I need to know going into the meeting?  I have the Psychologist's report and her suggestions for accommodations.  I'm going to get a letter from my DD's doctor asking for accommodations.  What do I need to do outside of that?

you have the right to bring someone with you, such as another parent, another teacher, your own psychologist, etc.

if you had any independent tests done whatsoever, bring copies of that with you.

has the school done any testing of their own?  if possible, review copies of the results if you hadn't done so already.

good luck!

You might check the School Issues section of this board.........Thanks, GC.  Those are all good points.  All the testing has been independent.  They want to review it all beforehand.  I plan to cooperate with that.  I don't really see any benefit in waiting until we're all sitting around the table for them to be able to look over the test results. Don't sign anything at the meeting. Tell them that you need to take it home and review it since this is all new to you. Make sure they are documenting what you say in the minutes. Ask to look at the minutes if you need to, or try to sit next to the person who is doing the writing. I'm not sure if you need to ask for Prior Written Notice for every item that they decline like you do for an IEP, but I suggest that you find out before the meeting (www.wrightslaw.com).
