when i clicked on this thread i was brought upstairs.....now thats annoying!   ss-my hubby was totally against me even taking my daughter to the neuro.....but i did it anyway.....no one should stand in the way of helping my child!  plz tell sil to find out what's going on w/ur niece!
I know...it totally annoyed me too because once I read a post I just click on the board name to see what other threads are there. Well, when I did that I was in the Parents board.  If someone wants their topic to remain in the basement then it should.
i guess we don't get a say in it.. or the board!  some things are really shocking when i read between the lines!

well, 2 rooms are better than just the hang out.

plz don't do that, now i'm lost again!

well, at least i know how to do it and leave the thread in the origional room now!!  it took me a long time to figure that one out!  you'd be shocked to know how many of my own threads i've lost in this site just learning how to do it!!!  i practice on my own stuff first!  You all know i'm not out to get you!  I'm trying to figure out how to do multi-board threads.  Don't you think that would be cool??  w/ out the room hopping?!?

i'm new at this, give me some time!!!

(and i got rid of imac!)just don't make the room spin, ok?

There is a condition, I think it's called Occular Dystophy where the persons eyes involuntarily roll upward sometimes so much that only the whites of their eyes can be seen. I had a client who would do the same thing with their mouth as you're describing to try and get their eyes back down again.

There is medication for the condition that works really well.

I don't think her hubby will let her, there is no way he would ever let a doc give her med. I am going to look it up and print some pages on it. So they can both read about it.

Thanks a bunch

Ogram please don't move this one...I can only talk to the gals here in the basement.
well sweets i see your request was denied....

i agree with everyone else it does sound like tics... why hasn't your sil taken her to the doctors yet?

my son also does the clearing throat thing and rolls his eyes and nods his head, and clicks his fingers i ask him to stop he will do 10 seconds later he will be doing it again ..

yeah, sounds like tourettes syndrome....my cousin's son has that & he is on medicine for the tics...

Ok my neice is 9yrs old and it started with her rolling her eyes, she said she has no controll over it, then that stopped and now she like stretches mouth around, almost like a half yawn, just like opening and shutting it over and over, at times but then some of the time she doesn't do it.....what could it be? if you know please post websites and info....

Thanks a bunch

Sweet,

Try reading your post, again.  It doesn't make any sense.  Sorry.  What is your niece rolling?  What do you mean, "stretching her mouth around"?

i fixed it...hope it makes more sence

Sweet, if she's doing repetative things with her eyes and mouth, it could possibly be a Tourettes Syndrome type motor tic.  That would be my first thought.  If she's on stimulants, they could cause tics as well.  My son had terrible motor and vocal tics when he was on meds (persistant eye blinking, head bowing, throat clearing sounds, shoulder shrugging and a snorting sound).  Here's info on Tourettes.  By the way, Tourettes (non-med induced symptoms) will typically start between the ages of something like 5 - 8.  I'd suggest taking her in for an evaluation.

Shoot.  Let's hope this link works.  The one I put up a minute ago isn't working.  Just do a search on Tourettes Syndrome if this link gives you trouble.

Leigh_GA_6639014.212662037she is non-medicated non ADHD just has a learning disability and goes to resource one hour a day. my sis-n-law said that toretts runs in her family 2 people have it , but I didn't think it changed from thing to thing, I always thought it was the same thing forever.
