genetics?? | ADHD Information

I've been reading a lot of your posts, and you all seem to have someone in your family that also has add or adhd, or bipolar and what have you. I have noone in my family that has anything, be it mental disorders or otherwise. My son is the first. Thats why I'm a little freaked out by everything thats been going on.Stacey, you may have someone who was undiagnosed.  My husband was not diagnosed until 2 years ago when we were suspecting ADHD with our son.  Subsequently, his mother and 2 brothers have now been diagnosed as adults as well.  You might also look into your husband's side of the family if there is no indication of disorders on your side.  Bipolar is a fairly recent diagnosis -- 20 years ago they were not very familiar with what it was or how to diagnos.No sorry, My family doctor thought my brother may have adhd but in the end it was misdiagnosed, as for a husband no I'm single but Medically the sperm donor's family has nothing on their side. And my family on both parents sides theres nothing. Thats why my dr. thought it was so interesting.
