My son has an upper respitory infection. The dr gave him antibotics. When I volunteered at school today my son was just bouncing off of the walls. I asked the teacher how long this has been going on. She said it started today and she thought it might be the antibotics.
I called his dr as soon as I got home and the nurse called back and said that the antibotic have a counter effect on his ritallin and just work through it until the antiboitcs are gone. Has anyone had this????
His class is going on a field trip on Thursday where there is an hour long ride each way. I can't see him tolerating an hour long ride without meds.. HELP PLEASE
Antibiotics can and do affect the delivery of the meds.This is interesting cause my son isn't on ADHD meds and has been taking Augmentin for the past 10 days and has been bouncing off the walls. He was fine prior to taking the antibiotics. Strange!
