Adderall Xr and benzoyl peroxide | ADHD Information

I just did a quick search b/c I'm running late, but I found some info on delayed contact dermatitis which is possibly what you're experiencing....try looking that up if you want, I've gotta run.

Good luck!Deang~I will bring delayed contact dermatitis up to my doctor.  I really appreciate your help with that!  I have never had an allergic reaction to anything apart from animals in my life.  I want to test out another product with benzoyl, but I want to speak to my doctor first.

I looked up some stuff, and here is one of the finds:

No, I have had no other reactions with products since starting the medication.  I plan on speaking to my doctor about it when I see her on Monday.  It has been several hours, and I'm back to normal.  My skin wasn't itchy at all, just bright red, hot and slightly swollen.

You might want to report the reaction to the cosmetic here:

There should be a comments section that you can include that you are new to Adderall as well. These reports help when there is a potential product error or other problem with a product. (you never know when something has been contaminated; like the contact lens products recently)

Vickie,
I will report it, but I had owned and used the specific bottle I had problems with this morning before I was perscribed adderall.
Oh... holy crap

I'd like to know too.

Have you had any negative reactions to other things too since taking it?

I have been on 15 mg of adderall xr a day for the last month.  Before I started the medication, I used a face mask (and many other products) regularly with 3.5 % benzoyl peroxide and had no problems.  I have only used products with salic acid since I started the medication until today.  I put the mask on and noticed a burning sensation a few minutes later.  I washed it off, thinking that I was just more sensitive to it because I hadn't used it in a while.  I looked in the mirror and my face was bright red and slightly swollen.  I applied cold water for a few minutes to reduce the swelling, put on witch hazel and then a moisturizer for sensitive skin.  It has been about 15 minutes and the redness is almost completely gone.  I have NEVER had an allergic reaction to ANY facial product before (and I have used many).  I just wanted to see if anyone else has had this problem and also to warn people of the possible interaction.

Thanks!
Hey everyone!  I spoke to my doctor today and she concluded that it was probably delayed contact dermititis (thanks Deang!).  She told me to discontinue use of that specific product.
Sorry to have scared anyone, but I'm new to this and kinda freaked out!  Thanks for all your help!  I really appriciate having people I can depend on to help me with these problems.
