ADHD & BiPolarI posted about ADHD and bipolar weeks back as I heard they were finding more bipolar in ADD or such. I think it is common to find depression/anxiety with ADD/ADHD. I attend a group session once a week and almost EVERYone is on a med for anxiety/depression along with an ADD med. I have read that if a person who is bipolar is given lets say prozac they will become hyper! it calms me down, as this was questioned with me, I questioned it! ADD and bipolar DO HAVE alot of similiarites [/QUOTE] I have adhd and anxiety. I was just curious how all of you treated both of these symptoms together. my husband has been diagnosed add and bi-polar and takes ritalin and seroquel for the bi-polar. I believe in the add, i am not sure he is truly bi-polar...he became severly depressed and punched a hole in the wall and said he just couldnt take the pain anymore....i have to admit he seems better on the seroquel and doesnt have any more episodes of depression like that so i guess they were right..u may want to see if u can try something like seroquel, it made him very sleepy for awhile and it also makes u gain weight from everything i have read but it may be worth looking into...good luck!Mafiakiddo is correct, most in the group I attend are on either an ADD med with antidepressant or anxiety, 2 meds. I take Prozac for OC and Strattera for ADHD. Usually with ADHD and Anxiety you are put on 2 meds usually a stimulant and an antidepressant. I was on Adderall and Celexa and the combination worked very well together.
